Presentation:

Who hasn't wondered whether the decisions made and the career paths chosen to study at university were the right ones... or just a terrible mistake? Eurochannel invites you to take the plunge headlong into this hilarious comedy offering a fresh and witty perspective on the matter. Find, along with Momo, the answer of the question and celebrate his long-awaited graduation... he's been studying for only 13 Semesters!

13 Semesters embraces six years of Momo's life as a student, having fun, being confronted with the serious aspects of life and trying to figure out his place in the world. Filmed in the life-pounding streets of Frankfurt and Darmstadt, the movie is a life-affirming comedy depicting the struggle and adventures of not just an atypical student, but also the dreams of a generation in Germany. Young people, striving to break free from the constraints of parental authority, emancipate and discover what life has in store for them.

With a sense of witty charm, director Frieder Wittich skillfully delivers this coming-of-age production deviating from the American cinema stereotypes of the genre. We follow the evolution of Momo's character and personality, on a transition which sees youthful enthusiasm at odds with deep depression, the character appeals the viewers to consider the answers to age-old existential questions like: What do one really wants in life? What one is doing here? And, when one will finally break free?

Take a trip back to the joyous university days and relish again all of the highs and lows that student life has to offer with 13 Semesters, on Eurochannel's German Month.
