Trying to milk the US pension system is never an easy task, but it gets harder when one tries do it from abroad. Eurochannel invites you to meet a family with a cunning plan to get the pension of a defunct family member. Gangsters, incompetent policemen, and hidden land mines provide a unique comedic experience from Croatia in 72 Days.

72 Days is a brilliant black comedy, the debut feature of Danilo Serbedzija, starring his father Rade Serbedzija, seen in Hollywood blockbusters Mission: Impossible II, Batman Begins, and X-Men: First Class, Before The Rain, Eyes Wide Shut, The Saint, and a leading actor on stage and screen across former Yugoslavia. He plays the battle-scarred patriarch of a spectacularly dysfunctional family surviving on the monthly pension of a grandmother whose husband was a cook in the US Army.

With lively acting from an experienced ensemble and fine camerawork by Sasa Rendulic capturing a rural back-water ravaged by the Balkan wars of the 1990s, the film won the Audience Award at Pula, and a string of international festival prizes.

Eurochannel invites you to laugh out loud with an interesting Croatian comedy, that was the country’s official candidate for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 2012 Academy Awards.
