Directed by Claes Olsson, the story takes place in a summer retreat during the 1960s where two women decide to renounce their traditional housewife roles to learn to waterski. Rosa, her husband Kajus and their son Thomas are regulars at the upper-class summer retreat, Paradise. The arrival of a new family led by the beautiful Bella, her crazy husband Gabbe and their daughter Renee changes Rosa's life. Over the course of three years, the women become the best of friends, even after Rosa has an affair with Bella's husband. Events in their third summer together lead to the two women escaping together to nearby Copenhagen, Claes Olsson's film evokes a bright and exaggerated setting which matches the quirky characters themselves. It transports you to a decade where we find two women finding themselves in a fun and satirical atmosphere with lifestyles that are a thing of the past. Synopsis: In the early 1960s, Bella (Marika Krook), her husband Kajus (Mikael Rejström) and their young son, Thomas (Onni Thulesius), spend seemingly endless holidays together.
