One of human’s darkest fears is being obsessively observed as privacy is our greatest treasure. In Closed Circuit, everything goes against that. The movie tells the story of Pierre Solvy, hired by a surveillance company to oversee the security of a hypermarket. After a few quiet months doing the usual job, he soon discovers that he’s expected to do other things besides the usual catching of suspects. The cameras at his disposal aren’t only used to watch the customers, but also to spy on the company’s employees.
Pierre is the perfect employee and has the trust of his superiors, until the day he discovers a trafficking network and becomes a threat to the system he helped to create. The trap closes around him and consequences will be fatal.
Based on an autobiographical book by Régis Sérange, Closed Circuit is a thrilling account of real events. In 2006, the author admitted in an interview with journalists to have participated in nearly 150 redundancies in 2 years all based on a Big Brother-like surveillance system he supervised.
Eurochannel invites you to be thrilled by the always vigilant eyes of the cameras above the movie’s protagonists. They will discover that nobody is safe when there are eyes lurking around you in this obscure Orwellian psychological thriller!
