In October, plunge into Germany’s history, society and culture with the 6th edition of Eurochannel’s German Month This October, Eurochannel is proud to present the 6th Edition of Eurochannel’s German Month. This special presentation, with the support of our friends at German Films, showcases - for the first time in the USA and Latin America - an exciting collection of short films, movies, documentaries, music specials and more. Capping off with a fitting tribute to Germany’s most renowned artists, this month offers an exciting delve into the top drawer of modern German culture for the whole world to see. Modern Germany has become a truly cosmopolitan nation and every form of its entertainment highlights a new era of open-mindedness, rich social and cultural diversity. With the largest economy in the European Union, Germany has become a breeding ground for the hottest new artists, actors, musicians, and directors, each of them breaking new ground with their fresh talent and youthful passion. This October, Eurochannel highlights the best of their work. From the poignant rock-pop of Tim Bendzko to the stylish pop-rock of Tokio Hotel, Germany continues to produce an endless variety of international music sensations. Germany’s international spirit is best reflected through its diverse music scene, ranging from opera to hip-hop from artists like legendary rock band BAP to the mesmerizing voice of Helene Fischer, among many more. Along with this varied line up, October gifts you numerous films, some appearing for the very first time on American television. Amidst compelling and provoking stories, we discover the innovative yet irreverent work of artist Ziska Riemann and her stark portrayal of German modern youth in Lollipop Monster. We also feature a film with the prolific and renowned Bruno Ganz, displaying an outstanding performance in The Day of the Cat, playing a character entirely opposite to his role on Downfall. There’s also the opportunity for humor and reality; 13 Semesters and Germany 09 will imprint their comedy and an authentic sense of Germany. The latter is a true view of the country from its people. Stay tuned with Eurochannel’s German Month and the chance to see why Germany is a world leader in economy and the arts.
