Interview with Uffe Rørbæk

Return to In Real Life

Interview with Uffe Rørbæk (Protagonist)

How did you get involved in this project?
Through Rune Tolsgaard who was one of the writers whom I had been working with previously.

What did you find more challenging when filming In Real Life?
Being a hetero sexual myself it was of course challenging to try to portray a bisexual character living out his homosexual side as loyal as possible. I found that very interesting.

How easy or difficult was to adapt yourself to the "improvisation" method used by the director?
I had been working using the same method before in a comedy series. The new thing for me was that this was drama which in many ways was actually quite a relief for me.

What is your view on online dating, the main subject of this film? Have you ever tried or been tempted to do it?
I’m very outspoken that to interact in a personal level it has never been an issue for me. But I can see why so many are using that way to meet. The Internet has really changed the whole dating thing.

If you could change something of your character on the film, what would you change?
I feel my character is quite unredeemed as a human being and therefore is sort of run over by his life. That is of course bad for him, but that's what makes an interesting film.

Are you working on any projects at the moment? Can you tell us something about them?
At the moment  I'm working on a  new film project but at this stage I'm not really able to tell about it.
