Intus - Gary Seghers - Belgium
Intus (Intus, 2013)
Director: Gary Seghers
There are times when humans hide from reality in a fantastic world. But what if that fantasy collapses upon us, striking even harder than reality? Eurochannel invites you to enjoy a mind-blowing documentary that blends the oneiric and real word in a tour de force emotional history. Intus on Eurochannel.
Directed and written by Gary Seghers, a photographer that jumped into TV and cinema and worked for the national television in Belgium, Intus tells the story of a man who finds himself locked in his room. As the plot unveils, reality is mixed with fantasy or vice versa, playing with the protagonist's and viewer's minds.
Through frenetic camera movements that build tension and the help of an outstanding performance by the Belgian cinema star Jérémie Renier (who plays Pierre Bergé in Saint Laurent), Seghers manages to drive the viewer's minds into a breathtaking world of suspense and mystery that also reminds the most impactful moments of iconic thrillers such the Saw saga.
Tune on your TVs on Eurochannel and enjoy one of the most successful Belgian short films of the last decade, winner for Best Movie at the Cinemavvenire Video Festival in Rome, and the Cinema Achievement Award at the Thessaloniki Int Short Film Festival in Greece.
A man wakes up with a start. He is walled up in his own bedroom. His only link with the outside world is a telephone: but it doesn't work. Faced with the events that unfold in this enclosed environment, the man is confronted with himself and his past.
