Silbermond Presentation: Want to find out the artistic results of a collision between supremely talented German rock gods and lyrical subjects about love and society? No problem, we've got it all here on Eurochannel. We deliver the outcome to your television in this massively exciting, exclusive Euromusic special as we jam with one of Germany's leading rock bands: Silbermond. Silbermond burst onto the German music scene in 2004 after opening a concert of Jeanette Biedermann. Originally called JAST, an acronym of the band's first names, the quartet changed to Silbermond, meaning Silver Moon, and ventured into composing their own rock tunes with guitars that chime and shimmer à la U2 and rhythm sections that thump and slither à la Timbaland. Succeeding from the very beginning with their first album, Verschwendedeine Zeit, which was certified double platinum in Germany and Austria, the band's fame took by surprise the critics and amazed the youngest audiences. Thanks to the beautiful vocals of Stephanie Kloss’s mezzo-soprano-pitched voice, gracefully accompanied by piano and strings in place of electric guitar riffs and pummeling drum tracks, their music is already a trademark that has led the band to perform at important events such as the German legs of Live Earth and Live 8 concerts. Recognized already as Best German Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and with multiple platinum and gold certified albums, Silbermond is on Eurochannel to prove why German audiences have surrendered to their unique tunes. Synopsis: Silbermond (German for "Silver Moon") is a German rock band from Bautzen, Saxony. The band consists of Stefanie Kloss, Andreas Nowak, Johannes and Thomas Stolle. The quartet has released four studio albums and has won multiple ECHO and Comet Awards. In 2009 Silbermond won Best German Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards. |
