Sara is happy to return to her homeland after many years in America. Europe is home and is where she feels safe the most… until she doesn’t. Eurochannel premieres What Lies Beneath, a psychological thriller about the price one woman pays for her family’ sins.

What Lies Beneath follows the story of Sara, a woman returning to her home in the Netherlands after a long span in the United States. Once in Europe, she feels safe from the many risks she sees in the American society. Her happiness after reuniting with her parents and sister is overshadowed in the blink of an eye after a series of anti-Semitic violent assaults, which reveal a dark family secret.

Created to generate expectation, intrigue and even anguish, What Lies Beneath connects with the viewers through the multilayered faced of its characters. As if it wasn’t enough, the horrors of WWII still reverberate in this chilling and original thriller, written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Menno Meyjes, co-writer of The Color Purple and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Eurochannel invites you to join Sara as she tries to unravel her father’s past to find out who’s after them and tries to keep her family together.

Synopsis:
After many years abroad, a woman’s homecoming becomes a nightmare as she’s the target of violent attacks. To stop them, she must dig deep into the darkness of her family’s past.
