Presentation:

Meet the new spoiled boy of British pop-rock. 21-years-old Ed Sheeran is blessed – he seems to know exactly where he is going, and exactly how to get there. Where countless others fail to make an impression amid today’s information overload, Ed’s music and talent cut straight through. From the streets of Halifax, to London, and now the whole world, Ed Sheeran comes to Eurochannel to present his hits and reveal the secrets behind his stardom.

With no more than a pounding desire to succeed in the music world, Ed Sheeran’s passion for music began at his school days when he learned to play the guitar. After recording his first EP in 2005, Ed moved to London in 2008 to gain live experience. Two years after he was already conquering the United Kingdom with his single “The A Team.”

Eager for glory than ever before, Ed Sheeran travelled to Los Angeles to prove his nerves in American stages. Luck was again with him and in one of the gigs he was spotted by actor and musician Jamie Foxx, who offered his studio to record an album.

After winning two BRIT awards for British Male Solo Artist & British Breakthrough Act, Ed Sheeran comes to Eurochannel to celebrate his victories with us, and tell, in his own words, the story behind his music and fame.

Biography:

Edward Christopher "Ed" Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. Ed grew up in Suffolk where he learnt to play an old guitar given to him by an uncle. Spurred on by a chance meeting with the aforementioned Rice when he was 11, Ed started writing songs.  Aged 16, he moved to London – into a flat above the T-Bird pub in Finsbury Park – with only one thing on his mind: playing gigs. Sheeran broke through commercially in June 2011, when his debut single "The A Team" debuted at number 3 on the UK chart.

Trivia:

• Ed Sheeran was a more popular search term on Google in the UK in 2011 summer than Harry Potter and The Weather.
• Ed’s Glastonbury performance was the most shared clip on the BBC’s website.
