June 1936, summer in France. Jo (Elsa Kikoïne), a young stylist with an extraordinary charm, makes all the men turn to notice her, is united with her friends and family. Jo is the object of a mysterious murder. After escaping several assassination attempts, she pleads with Detective Larosière (Duléry) to protect her. He falls in love intensely with the girl and for the first time, loses reasoning. In turn, Lampion (Colucci) finds a job as a house servant in Jo’s house to take the role of guardian angel in disguise. Still, the murderer works up the courage to step up during the July 14th festivities and a cousin of Jo’s is accidentally hit in the heart with a bullet.
