Biography:

Tokio Hotel, originally comprised of twin brothers Tom and Bill Kaulitz, started their careers at a very early age and were lucky to find fame when they were just teenagers. After a show in Magdeburg in 2001, they met drummer Gustav Schäfer and bass player Georg Listing, who quickly went on to join the band. At that time the twins used to play with a keyboard background instead of drums and bass.

The band was called Devilish but after getting a contract with Sony BMG they changed the name for Tokio Hotel, an appraisal of two of their most loved things in life. The contract did not last long and they were signed by Universal few months after, which launched an aggressive marketing plan and boosted the band internationally.

In 2005 the band launched Schrei, their first album that rapidly rose in the charts, reaching the number one within a month. Two years later, their second album launched under the name Zimmer 483 and Tokio Hotel again reached the highest chart positions in Germany, Austria, and France.

They reach world fame on 2008 after releasing their two first albums in English and touring North America. In 2009 the band launched their latest album involving new electronic sounds, Humanoid. That album took them on their first Asian Tour and turned them into "Germany's hottest musical export" according to Rolling Stone magazine.

Trivia:

• The Kaulitz twins were motivated by their step-father to form a rock band from the very early age of nine.
• The brothers moved to the United States due to robbery and problems by stalkers in their hometown in Germany.
