Eurochannel presents the riveting French film Love in the Blood (L'Amour Dans Le Sang, 2008), an adaption of actress Charlotte Valandrey's autobiography published in 2005.

Anne-Charlotte Pascal (known as Charlotte Valandrey) burst onto the screen at the age of 15 in the film Rouge Baiser (1985), which earned her both the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, and a nomination for the Cesar award. Having been discovered by agent Dominique Besnehard in 1980, only five years prior, Pascal seemed to have the whole world at her fingertips. Then, tragedy struck two years later, and at the tender age of 17, Pascal learned that she was HIV positive. This terrible discovery would shatter both her career and her life, leaving her a shadow of her former self.

The daily struggle with her illness seemed almost to defeat Charlotte, until she clawed up from the ashes and chronicled her trials in the moving autobiography Love in Blood. Though her body was weakened by the disease, her spirit continued to grow stronger, and she further proved her tenacity when she underwent a heart transplant in 2003, restoring life to body as well as soul.

In Love in the Blood, Charlotte plays herself as an adult and actress Aurore Paris plays her during the most intense period of her life: when she began to fight the disease. Witness this spectacular tale of suffering and rebirth.

Discovered at the start of the 1980s by agent Dominique Besnehard, Anne-Charlotte Pascal (known as Charlotte Valandrey) made her film debut at the age of 15 in Rouge Baiser (1985) and her acting was enough to win her the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and a nomination for a Cesar award. She had a promising career ahead of her but two years later, she discovered she was HIV positive, a discovery that could destroy her career.
