Season 3

Presentation:

Anna Pihl is back for a third season, and this time the stakes are higher than ever. Anna, a single mother and hardened cop, continues to look after both her city and her son, now under the auspices of the force’s major crime squad. This hit Danish crime drama is full of thrills and drama, both on the mean streets and in Anna’s own home.

Synopsis:

Episode 1

Anne (Charlotte Munck) has started her new job as a member of the department’s crime squad. Her first task is to identify a murder victim who was shot to death and left in a swamp. The man has a police badge on him, but was he really a cop, or is there more to this case than meets the eye? As the investigation unfolds, Anna finds and questions one of the suspects, which unexpectedly throws her into a life or death situation. Meanwhile, Karim (Said Chayesteh) is also confronted with terrible violence. Kim (Paw Henriksen) has to go to the hospital where he is treated by a kindly nurse.

Episode 2

After his surgery, Anna’s former partner Martin (Claes Bang) is ready to return to the police squad. Eva (Tammi Øst) hires him to join the crime squad, and he and Anna (Charlotte Munck) are reunited. Nobody minds the arrangement, not even Daniel (Ola Rapace). For Martin’s inaugural case, the detectives must investigate a very unusual crime: A mysterious sailboat has appeared at the harbor of Copenhagen, right around the time when a suitcase worth lots of money was stolen from its rich American owner. Anna and Martin (Claes Bang) are assigned to lead the investigation.

Episode 3

When a homeless man is found half-dead under a bridge, it seems like a simple suicide attempt. However, when Anna (Charlotte Munck) digs a little deeper, she uncovers a witness whose story differs from the official version. The witness offers to help, but the testimony leads to bloody consequences. As the action heats up, Kim (Paw Henriksen) volunteers to watch over the comatose victim in the hospital. Kim has a plan to crack the case, but nothing goes as expected.

Episode 4

On their way home from the movies, Anna (Charlotte Munck) and Daniel (Ola Rapace) are attacked by four juvenile delinquents. The police think it’s a "happy slapping”, where youths attack strangers and record the prank onto their phones. Daniel doesn’t find their game very funny, and his violent reaction leads to Sune, the leader of the pack, filing a complaint against Daniel for head-butting him. When Sune’s mother turns up to raise hell at the department, Daniel and Anna are both questioned about the attack.

Episode 5

A nine-year-old boy goes missing at a Copenhagen zoo. The only trace left of him is a single shoe found abandoned in the polar bear cave. The boy’s disappearance seems to be the work of a dangerous pedophile, and when a suspect is brought in for questioning, Eva (Tammi Øst) flies into a rage at him. Anna (Charlotte Munck) tries to talk Eva down, but Eva refuses to listen until Henning (Kurt Ravn) gets involved. Meanwhile, Karim (Said Chayesteh) discovers that Kim (Paw Henriksen) and Sammira (Özlem Saglanmak) are lovers, leading to dire consequences for the two officers.

Episode 6

A young girl with Pakisani background tries to commit suicide, and at first the police think it’s about a forced marriage. However, when Anna (Charlotte Munck) and her fellow officers look into the case, they discover that the stakes are much higher. Karim (Said Chayesteh) is still not comfortable about his sister’s affair with Kim (Paw Henriksen), and theirs isn’t the only relationship that’s in trouble.

Episode 7

Jamila (Silan Erdem), unable to handle the pressure put on by her family, has returned. The preparations for her wedding to the son of a Pakistani mafia boss have already begun. Mahmoud (Nima Nabipour), her boyfriend is doing everything to get her back, until a mysterious gunman takes a shot at him. When Anna (Charlote Munk) and Martin (Claes Bang) turn up at the wedding, everything begins to unravel.

Episode 8

To catch an infamous trafficking network at the Vestre Prison facility, Anna (Charlote Munk) goes undercover as a prison officer. She soon discovers that the prison where the drugs are being smuggled is the very same facility where Mikala (Iben Hjejle) is doing her time. Mikala initially agrees to help her old colleagues catch the smugglers, but she soon discovers that the people that they’re after are more dangerous than she had ever imagined.

Episode 9

Anna (Charlote Munk) and Martin (Claes Bang) are investigating a simple burglary, but when they are about to arrest two run-of-the-mill thieves, things get out of hand and Anna has to fire her gun. This has huge consequences, not only for the investigation, but also for Anna’s career as a police officer and for her own peace of mind. Henning (Kurt Ravn) supports her as much as he can, but he can’t keep Anna's life from being turned upside down. Martin’s relationship with Anna is also affected.

Episode 10

Anna’s (Charlote Munk) case in the killing of the thief Bjrn begins to spiral out of control, as the government is forced to pursue a prosecution that could end with Anna being imprisoned for up to ten years. Though Anna is still suspended from the force, she and Martin (Claes Bang) investigate the case on their own by reconstructing the crime scene. They quickly discover that, in the initial investigation, the police might have overlooked some crucial details.

Season 2

Presentation:

Anna Pihl returns for a second season of protecting her city and caring for her son. In the series, we follow the life of a single mom who is doing what’s best for her family in an untraditional way: by joining the police force. To her, the right decisions were to move in with her gay best friend, Jan, and join the most dangerous police department in Denmark.

When Anna puts on her uniform, she is not to be messed with. As a rookie cop with Copenhagen’s Bellahøj Police Department, she deals with everything from robberies to gang violence on an everyday basis.
