Interview with Cristina Cellini (Mamma Persichetti) Since it premiered, Looking Back has become your favorite Eurochannel series. Eurochannel invited you to ask your questions directly to the stars of the show. Elisa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil): This series impressed me because it reminds me of my childhood that took place at the same time. How did you feel about being part of a great story like this? It was a moving experience. The series is incredibly realistic, especially at the place where we shot the slum scenes. We truly felt we lived the story. Eduardo (Morelia, Mexico): What do you think of the boy who plays your son on the show, the little Persichetti, and his social and economic situation now as compared to the one in 1960's Italy? Do you think now things have changed? I hope so, although today the social differences are still very clear. The '60s are a very recent past and they evoke a pleasure, a positive aspect: the period of strong economic growth, of music, of fashion, etc... It's hard to believe that some people were dancing the twist, while others were living in miserable conditions without water or electricity. Things have changed for us Italians. Today, we are the new poor and unfortunately, there are many immigrants looking for a new life who come to Italy and end up in a nightmare. Karen (Barranquilla, Colombia): How is life in Italy if a girl from Latin America decides to go live there? As in all regions of the world, it depends of many things including what you want to do in life. Italy is really a welcoming country but the crisis in recent years is difficult, even here. Sandra (São Paulo, Brazil): Which episode touched you the most? As an actress, I liked the scenes with the children and to learn how to manage my feelings. As a viewer, it is difficult to choose a particular episode. The entire story is so involving; each episode is better than the last one. Can you tell us more about the second season of Looking Back? There will be lots of surprises and emotions! Life in the slums will be dangerous, but we will be even stronger! |
