Interview with Mariolina De Fano (Nonna Innocenza) Since it premiered, Looking Back has become your favorite Eurochannel series. Eurochannel invited you to ask your questions directly to the stars of the show. Elisa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil): Personally, I loved this series. How did you feel participating in this project? I really liked it. It was a wonderful experience! Sandra (São Roque, Brasil): What was your biggest challenge in this series? Although I am neither a mother nor a grandmother, I had to act as convincingly as possible. Karen (Barranquilla, Colombia): Here in Colombia, some producers and writers do not create roles with older people; how is the situation in Italy? Is there discrimination against experienced actors? In Italy, the talented actors get roles if they are still good. For example: Paola Borboni who is 90 years old. María Alejandra (Rosario, Argentina): What are the differences and similarities between a modern grandmother and a ‘60s grandmother? They have the same affection and as today’s parents since both parents are usually working, so grandmothers become much closer to their grandchildren. Celeste (Buenos Aires, Argentina): Can we still see today the Italian family spirit from Looking Back? Certainly yes, but especially in the countryside and less so in the cities. Eduardo (Morelia, México): Is it difficult to play a grandmother who speaks in the northern Neapolitan dialect and at the same time speaking in «regular» Italian with most of the cast? For me, it was easy because I did a lot of theatre using Italian dialects and even «regular» Italian is not a problem for me. Adrian (Aguascalientes, Mexico): What has changed in the family model like that in the series versus the Italian family of today? It has changed a lot, especially in large cities. |
