The Spanish versions of his Italian hits made him a genuine star not just in Argentina, but across all of South America. At the height of his career, Tony Vilar disappeared without leaving a trace of where he went or what he left to do. The hilarious movie follows Peppe (Peppe Voltarelli), an Italian singer trying to trace Tony Vilar’s steps all over the world from Italy to Buenos Aires. He delves deep into the life of Tony Vilar by visiting people he knew and places he once performed, building up the multifaceted singer so much so that he comes close to being a myth. His trail leads him to New York City where he discovers Tony working in something he never thought possible. Synopsis: Tony Vilar came from Southern Italy to Argentina as a child and became one of the most successful South American singers of the 1960's. The first song for which he garnered worldwide acclaim was Cuando calienta el sol. At the height of his career Tony Vilar disappeared. Now Peppe is on a mission to trace Tony's steps and find out what happened to the popular singer.
