Air Presentation: Eurochannel invites you to experience the psychedelic sound of Air. Their music is just as ethereal as their name, flowing between electronica, ambient music, and a third genre that has yet to be named. Dim the lights, turn your sound system on, lie on your sofas and enjoy a musical trip through these hallucinatory sounds. With clear influences from electronic music legends such as Jean-Michael Jarre and Enigma, Air mixes synthesizers and studio instruments. Every song they produce revolutionizes the genre even as they honour bands such as Pink Floyd and Goldfrap. Their outstanding talent has earned them attention both in the music industry and in film: Air has flirted with the cinema by working on film scores for movies like The Virgin Suicides (2000) and Lost in Translation (2003). Biography: Air is a band of two members: Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, from Versailles, France. Their name, Air, is derived from the acronym “Amour, Imagination, Rêve”, which translates to Love, Imagination, Dreams. Air's debut EP, Premiers Symptômes, was followed by the critically acclaimed album Moon Safari, the re-release of Premiers Symptômes, The Virgin Suicides score, and subsequently albums 10 000 Hz Legend, Everybody Hertz, Talkie Walkie, Pocket Symphony, Love 2, and Le Voyage Dans La Lune. Trivia: • Air composed the score for Sofia Coppola’s The Virgins Suicidesin 2000. They also collaborated in a track for her feature Marie Antoniette in 2006. |
