The elderly tycoon is feared and despised by even his closest relations: Edouard, his elder son lives in a manor with his beautiful wife. Antonin, the middle son is an almost ruined deputy, who has come to introduce his new fiancé Madelaine (even as he dates the housekeeper, Louise). Victor, the younger son, Olympic champion who has fallen out with his father, accepts the invitation in order to see his long beloved Edith. Simon’s motive is to introduce his sons to his young, mysterious granddaughter Ines. He has also invited Eloi N’Diaye, a young African doctor.

Tragedy strikes when, en route to the manor, Ines suffers a fatal car accident, and her valet steals her identity in order to claim her inheritance. Things get worse, when, during the birthday party, Simon is murdered in his double locked bedroom…

Episode 2

Synopsis: Simon Le Tescou’s murder is being investigated by the brilliant Captain Larosiere, and his young protégé, inspector Emile Lampion. Upon being questioned, none of the residents and guests of Simon’s manor have a strong alibi. In spite of the investigation, Edith and Victor start to have an affair as they used to when they were younger. Edith confesses to Victor that her 16-year-old daughter Alix is his, and not Edouard’s. Louise tells to her lover Antonin that he has made her pregnant. His happiness at the news is overshadowed by the anger and betrayal of his fiancé, Madelaine, who overheard the conversation. The young Alix discovered Ines’ impersonator and makes a game of threatening to expose her. The police continue the investigation, discovering the murder weapon; a scalpel owned by none other than Eloi, the young doctor. Harassed by Larosière, Eloi confesses that he is an illegitimate child of Simon Le Tescou. Eloi is arrested, the captain in convinced that the old cook, Madame Dupré is hiding something. Before she can be questioned, however, they find that she has been murdered by poison. At the same time, Madelaine pushes Louise down a stepladder, leaving her unconscious.

Episode 3

Synopsis: The action begins to heat up in this episode: Madame Dupré escapes from death but her fall renders her paralyzed and mute. Louise loses her baby. Eloi is exonerated of the murder. Larosière and Emile decide to settle down at the castle in order to set a trap for the murderer. Unfortunately, things go badly wrong, and airing the ambush, Madame Dupré is shot to death! Meanwhile, Alix realized her father is actually Victor, and that her supposed parents have been lying to her for years. Things continue with some semblance of normalcy as Alix tries to punish the deceptive adults by misbehaving and creating a scandal. Soon after, during a hunting game, the murderer strikes again and wounds Edith’s arm. Close to a nervous breakdown, captain Larosière arrests Victor before finally turning his suspicions to Simon’s granddaughter Ines. Ines confesses her real identity to Eloi, who falls in love with her, and suggests they run away together. Edouard rapes Edith after she, in a rage, promises that she will leave him once this sordid affair has concluded. The next day Edouard and Victor starts to fight and Edouard falls from a cliff. He is brought back to the manor, dying. In the castle park, Emile Lampion discovers, terrified, captain Larosière lying down the ground, wounded: the murderer has struck again!

Episode 4

Synopsis: Things get worse and worse for the guests of the manor. After a long battle, Edoard finally succumbs to his injuries, dying in his daughter’s arms. Victor, paralyzed with guilt, decides to end his romance with Edith. He consoles himself by trying to get closer to Alix, only to be rewarded with further rebuke. At the hospital, captain Larosière recovers from his injuries and summons the young Inès. After an intense interrogation, Ines confesses to Simon and Madame Dupré murders. She is put in jail. Inspector Lampion does not believe the mysteries fully solved, however; some things just don’t add up. These ideas are dismissed, and the inspector is told to go on vacation in Egypt for awhile. Emile restarts the investigation from the beginning, helped this time by his friend Richard, the driver. Meanwhile, Victor learns that, due to his leg injuries, his career as an athlete is over. He decides to train Richard, whom he sees as a potentially professional runner. Further revelations show that Paul, the butler, has carried a secret torch for Louise for many years, and reveals that her eight year old son, thought dead, is simply missing, encouraging her to look for him. Finally, the persistent Emile is convinced that the mystery isn’t solved, and, while en route to the manor to resume his investigation, is confronted by the true murderer, armed with a gun!
