Presentation:

Bang your head! Iron Maiden, the heavy-metal legend, is back and more brutal than ever. Their raw lyrics, astonishing performances, and intense music have attracted a zealous fan-base that spans the generations. Now, these legends of rock are back on tour to celebrate the release of their DVD, which revived the passions of their Latin American fans. Now they’ve come to Eurochannel to show us all just what heavy metal is all about.

Iron Maiden shocked the London music scene in the 1980s. Their hard, melodic riffs came as a great surprise, especially considering the band’s origin as a bunch of kids from the West Ham suburb in northern London. They went from playing tiny pubs in the UK to touring the world’s concert halls, bringing their intense lyrics, ferocious sounds, and their grisly mascot “Eddie” to venues large and small. Despite their success, their first worldwide tour was bizarre, even by heavy metal standards, as they were forced to play for a wedding in Poland, a drunken pack of lorry drivers in Australia, and other strange venues.

Now, 35 years later, Iron Maiden has become the personification of heavy metal to fans all over the world. Led by their ferocious bass player Steve Harris, they have toured just about everywhere, documenting their exploits in films like Flight 666.

Don’t be afraid. Witness the power of these rock gods for yourself.
