Late of the Pier England Late of the Pier is a four-piece band, formed in 2004, from Castle Donington, England. Their debut album Fantasy Black Channel was released on 11 August 2008. They played the first ever Underage Festival as well as the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2007. Late of the Pier's style has often been compared to artists like Gary Numan or Brian Eno and the more contemporary Metronomy and Klaxons, mainly due to the prominent use of synthesizers in an off-kilter pop style. The band has performed support slots for Soulwax, Justice and U.N.K.L.E. on recent tour dates. In April 2009, Late of the Pier also played at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Palm Springs, California. |
