Presentation:

Isabelle Adjani plays Sonia Bergerac, a teacher at a tough junior high school. Despite the principal’s warnings, she wears a skirt to work. She simply wants to teach her class but the insults are just too much. Scared and taking antidepressants, Sonia finds a gun in a bag belonging to one of her students; she takes her class hostage so she can finally teach a proper lesson on Molière.

Talented French actress Isabelle Adjani will be in Eurochannel’s programming. She is the star of the new French film Skirt day (La Journée de la Jupe, 2008), winner of the 2010 César award for Best Actress. Skirt day is Isabelle Adjani's return to the screen after a five year break.

The beautiful Isabelle Adjani joined the Comédie Française at an early age and started in film when she was 14 years. She received her first Oscar and César nominations for Best Actress for her work in The Story of Adele H. (1975), the story of Victor Hugo’s daughter.

Appearing in not only French films, but British and German ones as well, she received her first of four César awards for The Night the Screaming Stops (1981), a film directed by Andrzej Zulawski. Her other three César awards were for One Deadly Summer (1983), Camille Claudel (1988), and Queen Margot (1994).

Isabelle Adjani has two children, one with French cinematographer Bruno Nuytten, and another from her six-year relationship with Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis.
