Presentation:

Torture, murder, extortion were daily things happening at the infamous address chronicled in the film 93 Lauriston Street. The address housed the headquarters of the French Gestapo during the German occupation in Paris. The Carlingue, as they were called, were a French division of the Gestapo, the Nazi Germany secret police, based in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. In France, they were active between 1941 and 1944 and headed by Henri Lafont and Pierre Loutrel.

Synopsis:

Under the occupation, German authorities have relied on French hoodlums. Equipped with a German ID, these thugs were untouchable. They engaged in racketeering, the black market, prostitution, and more. The group was looking after Jews and resistance fighters to arrest them. The group was known as the Carlingue (also called French Gestapo) and their headquarters were at the now infamous address, 93 Lauriston Street. Following the execution of the organization's leaders, one investigator goes further than anyone dared to in an effort to find the truth about the heinous crimes committed by the now infamous organization.

Trivia:

• Today, the address houses the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Hervé de Charette. In 2009, he expressed his discomfort: "The address immediately embarrassed me, especially since I am responsible for a Franco-Arab organization". He hopes to have the address changed to 91bis Lauriston Street.
•  The film took home a Golden Nymph at the Monte Carlo television festival for Best Direction in 2005.
