Humpday (2009) - Lynn Shelton, Mark Duplass & Joshua Leonard Synopsis: It's been a decade since Ben (Mark Duplass) and Andrew (Joshua Leonard) were the bad boys of their college campus. Ben has settled down and found a job, wife, and home. Andrew took the alternate route as a vagabond artist, skipping the globe from Chiapas to Cambodia. When Andrew shows up unannounced on Ben's doorstep, they easily fall back into their old dynamic of macho one-upmanship. Biography of Lynn Shelton (Director): Born in Seattle, Washington, Lynn Shelton is an American film director, editor, writer and producer. She attended Oberlin College in Ohio, and then the University of Washington in its School of Drama. She then moved to New York and attended the Master's of Fine Arts program in Photography and Related Media at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Her career in the cinema industry begun as a film editor meanwhile she was pursuing her own projects: short films. After being involved as editor in films such as Outpatient (2002), Hedda Gabler (2004), Lynn Shelton directed her first film in 2006 with We Go Way Back. Then she continued her directing career with What the Funny (2008), My Effortless Brilliance (2008), Humpday (2009), premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and Your Sister's Sister (2010). She has also directed episodes in series such as Mad Men and New Girl. Biography of Mark Duplass (Ben): Mark David Duplass is an American film director, film producer, actor, and screenwriter born in New Orleans, Louisiana in December 7, 1976. He is recognized in the filming industry for his collaborations with his brother Jay with whom he has written, directed, and produced a number of feature films such as The Puffy Chair (2005). Duplass has also a parallel acting career, appearing in more than a dozen of films, in some cases directed by him and his brother. Amongst his most prominent roles are the ones in the films The Puffy Chair (2005), Hanna Takes the Stairs (2007), Humpday (2009), The League (2009) and Greenberg (2010). Biography of Joshua Leonard (Andrew): Joshua Granville Leonard is an American actor born in Houston, Texas in June 17, 1974 and best known for his role in The Blair Witch Project (1999). Precisely, his career in the cinema industry started with the surprising reaction to The Blair Witch Project after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Joshua’s personal interests range from teaching to photography to travelling. He spent a year and a half in Mexico Teaching English and hiking across Central and South America, as well as pleasing his photography hobby during the trips. He has been awarded with the Best Actor Prize at the Gijón International Film Festival for his role in the film Humpday (2009). |
