Run if you Can (Renn wenn du kannst, 2010) Director: Dietrich Brüggemann Presentation: Run if you Can invites the viewer to live and enjoy in a comic and well done love story of three people whose paths have crossed by coincidence when Christian decides to assist a disabled man, Ben, who has been obsessed with a girl. This film, based on a novel, deals with the deepest fears a person remaining for life in a wheelchair would face. Insecurity, reclusiveness and anxiety are the toughest ingredients in Ben's life and that's why he treats all his caretakers in a scorned way. Thankfully the situation will no remain the same for so long after meeting his new caretaker Christian. While they get used to each other, Christian does his best to help Ben overcome his personal hurdles and introduces him to Annika, the girl that Ben's been obsessed over. It does not take too long for the three of them to become friends. However, Ben and Christian will demand more from Annika and that is where things turn into a tangled situation where they will learn invaluable lessons. Synopsis: Ben (Robert Gwisdek) will have to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He's vivacious, intelligent and desperate. Christian (Jacob Matschenz) is easygoing and takes life as it comes. Annika (Anna Brüggemann) rushes through a life that for her is filled with practicing for her cello performance. It's not until she collides with Christian one morning when the three meet and become friends. They rapidly create their own world and then fall in love, naturally the guys come to want more from Annika than just friendship. However, Annika can't decide. She likes Christian's playfulness but has never met anyone like Ben before -he's different in every way: not only is he an interesting person but he's also in a wheelchair. Something that began as a game for them becomes a journey for Ben to overcome his deepest fears and he won't be able to find his way out again alone.
