Shadow Play (Portraits chinois, 1996) Director: Martine Dugowson Martine Dugowson was awarded as Best Director at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 1997 for Shadow Play. Nine friends have been together for years. They have close and passionate liaisons but they all have the habit of telling white lies as a way of dismissing their bad behaviour, cruelties, betrayals and fear of others. Just as the blind have to reach out and touch in order to "see" each other, they slowly discover their difference in the course of two years of working, loving and fighting. |
