Princess Diana

One of the most beloved Britons and members of the British royalty, Princess Diana was elusive to the press in her final days. Probably that was what precisely caused her untimely demise. On August 31, 1997, the beloved Princess died in a highly publicized celebrity car crash. This accident is probably one of the most famous car crashes with an abundance of media coverage and paparazzi car crash photos circulating in the press.

Driving a 1994 Mercedes-Benz W140 through a tunnel in France, the driver lost control of the car and smashed into a pillar. The Mercedes-Benz was thought to be speeding at approximately 65 mph when they crashed escaping from the paparazzi.

Grace Kelly
Princess Grace of Monaco was an Academy Award-winning actress and the epitome of glamour during her days. She married into royalty when she wed Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, in 1956. On September 13, 1982, Grace was driving back to Monaco from her country home in Roc Agel when she suffered a small stroke. As a result, she lost control of her 1971 Rover P6 3500 and drove off the steep. The Princess was taken to the Monaco Hospital (later named the Princess Grace Hospital Centre) with injuries to the brain and thorax and a fractured femur. She died the following night at 10:55 p.m. after Rainier decided to turn off her life support.

Paul Walker
A man who probably died doing what he loved, Paul Walker became famous for his roles in the Fast and Furious film saga. While filming scenes for the latest installment of the franchise, Walker along with his friend, died in a car crash involving a Porsche Carrera GT. The Porsche was traveling at speeds of over 100 mph at the time of the incident.

As a result of the high-speed crash, the car ended up bursting into flames. Walker died from burn and traumatic injuries. He was 40 at the time of this infamous car accident.
